Princeton Living Well, an NIH-funded Wellness Project,
Needs Project Evaluators
Do you live in the Princeton area?
If you are a resident of the greater Princeton area, you may be eligible to be part of the research study that will evaluate the Princeton Living Well project.
We need 50 evaluators (formally known as "subjects") who fit the following criteria:
- Resident of the greater Princeton NJ area.
- Adult between 18 and 80 years of age.
- Able to speak, read and write English.
- No special dietary requirements.
- Not on a weight-loss diet program.
- Not diagnosed with diabetes (type 1 or 2).
- Owner of a home computer that is connected to the Internet and has email.
More Details
- Research subjects will be asked to engage in the Princeton Living Well (PLW) project by using its website resources, taking part in PLW events, and participating in the PLW reward system to whatever extent they would like, although some will be asked to carry out one or two specific activities.
- Research subjects will sign a consent form that completely describes the study and their responsibilities as a subject.
- Each subject will complete questionnaires at the beginning and again at the end of the study. The questionnaires will gather information that will help answer the following questions:
-- Can this project engage all segments of the community in the common pursuit of healthy lifestyles and general wellness?
-- Does this project have the potential to prevent diabetes and overweight in the community's population?
- The study will last until mid-September 2008.
Compensation
- $25, at the end of the pilot study.
- Free Polar Heart Watch and Omron Pedometer.
* Only the 50 research subjects will receive these tracking devices.
- Twenty subjects will asked to participate in a focus group for an addtional $50.
